Would You Buy This Today? (The Only Question You Should Be Asking)
The only question you need to validate your AI No-Code Idea
Most people start a no-code project by asking:
“What’s a good idea?”
“What’s trending on Product Hunt?”
“What can I build in a weekend?”
But there’s one question I ask that instantly changes everything:
Would someone buy this today before I build it?
Why This Question Works
It forces validation.
It strips away distractions.
It makes you ruthless about only what matters.
Because when you ask this, you stop thinking like a builder and start thinking like a problem solver.
Buyers Want 3 Things
If you get answer back “yes,” it’s probably because your project has these:
Proof
People are already asking for it.
They’re willing to pay now, even a little bit.
It will work without you doing manual support, i.e. you’re not a linchpin.
Simplicity
Buyers want to take over something that’s
Easy to understand
Easy to run
Built on tools they know (Webflow, Softr, Lovable, Make, etc.)
If it requires a 60-minute Loom just to explain how it works, it’s not sellable.
Positioning
This is the secret most founders miss.
Buyers don’t just want a tool, they want a story they can run with.
“The #1 GPT directory”
“A job board for remote developers”
“A CRM made for personal trainers”
The clearer the niche, the easier the sale.
The Projects That Sell Fast
From everything we’ve published on No-Code Exits, the projects that got snapped up fastest usually had:
A landing page that made it obvious what it was for
Some kind of automated system (Make, Zapier, Airtable, etc.)
A small but real user base
A clean domain (easy to say, spell, and remember)
An email list, blog, or small community
Most were making anywhere from $0 to $500/month, and sold for $1,000 to $30,000+
If the Answer Is “No”, That’s Good, Too
If you ask this question and your honest answer is “no, no one would buy this today”, all is not lost.
That just means you’re in the validation phase, not the building phase.
Use it as a filter:
What would I need to change to make it acquirable?
What blockers would a buyer have?
What would make it more plug-and-play?
Answer those and you’re already halfway there.
A Mindset Shift for AI No-Code Founders
You don’t need to grind for years and you don’t need a $10K/month MRR goal.
You need something someone else would want right now.
That’s how you build liquid products, avoid burnout, and start stacking small wins.
Next time you open your go to No-Code app, don’t just ask “What can I make?”
Ask: Would someone buy this today?
