Hello! What's your background?
I’m a Senior Growth Hacker and SEO Consultant at Genero passionate about finding new improved ways of working with AI and automating daily SEO tasks.
I’ve been in the industry for 6 years and run a flower affiliate blog that I grew from 0 to 50 K in monthly organic traffic within 1 year.
The blog has 5000+ products, and I needed to find an easy and efficient way to SEO-optimize the products at scale, so I developed my own method for that using ChatGPT and then automating the optimization with the no-code app Make.com.
How did you discover no-code?
When I started I had 9,000 products on my flower affiliate marketing blog, and I wanted to optimize these to rank better in Google and earn more on affiliate marketing on my blog.
I started with creating a prompt suitable for product description optimization and an own Custom GPT for each product brand on my blog.
When the prompt was working well, and got enough tired of optimizing them one by one with Custom GPTs, I moved the process and build the same setup in the no-code platform Make.com.
So I built the workflow with my ChatGPT prompts and a system in a spreadsheet, so that I am able to optimize hundreds and thousands of product descriptions for my blog in one day and automating it so that it runs in the background while I do something else.
Which no-code tools did you use to build and run it?
In Make I built the workflow and connected the different steps in the process.
I connected ChatGPT and my prompts and messages to the spreadsheet, and built the entire workflow.
When the workflow is ready and it works, I can just add more products and info and then click on a button and it starts to optimize the products in the way that I have set it up.
🛠️ No-Code Tools
ScreamingFrog - For scraping the data from manufacturer websites
Custom GPT’s - For prompts and messages sent to spreadsheet
Google Spreadsheets - For spreadsheet management
Make - For the workflow and connecting the different steps in the process
How did the initial version look like?
I spent a lot of time developing and improving my prompts first with custom GPTs, but when they worked well, I moved into Make.
There I spent maybe two weeks to really learn how it works and test different methods how I can do it.
I found a way that minimizes hallucinations and errors to get an as implementation ready product descriptions as possible that works for me without having to manually correct errors and hallucinations in the texts afterwards.
What is the unique business model?
I use this product description workflow method for optimizing my products on my blog. It is really cost and time efficient, and the revenue comes from affiliate sales on the products I optimize on my blog.
I can scale it by taking in new brands to my blog and continue optimizing more products. The same process is also used for translation of product description and content, so for ecommerce we have been able to scale into four new markets in four new languages with this method.
I use the method for my own projects, and also for our clients. I have spoken at BrightonSEO and Marketing Business Summit about this method and showed other marketing experts in how they can do the same for their needs.
Stats
With my first product optimizing method with custom GPTs where I did them one by one, I used 5 mins per product description to optimize. And I optimized 400 as a test in five weeks.
With this new method I can optimize 3500 in a day (which I did one day), and that is 40 products in 5 mins.
The product optimization prompts I use in this method are working for SEO, because when I did the test where I optimized 400 in five weeks, it gave me 115 more words on position 1 in google and 156% more organic clicks from the optimized pages five weeks after I started this test.
What's your advice for people just getting started?
Everything is new and no one is really an expert yet with all these new No-Code and AI tools, so you have all the possibilities to become the expert in your niche and in what you are building.
My best tips is to test and see if it works, it’s the only way to learn!
