🚪 How a Niche Resource Directory was created and sold in 1,5 months
The No-Code Exit Story of Mohit and Sideproject.tools
Hello,
Welcome 128 new subscribers👯♀️. How is your week going? I started some fun new projects this week.
👀 Katt's Week
Harold and I did a kick-off meeting for Indie Kids version 2. In the coming weeks, we will be creating a No-Code Family challenge. You can read more about it here
As a next project, I'm thinking of creating a Productized Service. I asked for some tips on Twitter and some great resources were shared.
I'm going to a freelancer network event later today in Rotterdam. As an introvert, I absolutely hate such events. But I hope it will give inspiration for my productized service 😅 hopefully it's worth it. Wish this awkward talker some luck 🤞
The interview this week is with Mohit. He already sold 2 projects on Micro Acquire.💪 In this newsletter we will share his story how he built and sold a niche resource directory in 1,5 months. 👇
📣 Cool Classifieds
Small Bets is a cohort course that learns you how to minimize risk with building a portfolio of small businesses. I joined the cohort a few months ago, and it had a huge impact on the way I work. A huge plus is that it's a onetime fee which gives you lifetime access to every new cohort, guest lectures (I recently followed one about SEO and one about Gumroad) and the very helpful and active community.

The Steal Club weekly lessons, strategies, and templates to grow your audience and business is one of my favorite newsletters to inspire me on how to grow No Code Exits.
No-Code Bootcamp cohort 4 is starting on November 7th. Tomorrow is the last day to apply with the discount (350 GBP), on Saturday the price goes up to 500 GBP.
🔥 Maker Interview
Hello Mohit, tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Mohit, I am a UI/UX designer & I started learning no-code around November 2021. I signed-up on Twitter, where I got to know about the community of No-Code & whole Indie Makers thing. That's what motivated me, and it is still fun to be part of these communities.
Which product did you build?
My first product was sideproject.tools . Side Project Tools was curated with hours of research to find out the Best resources For Developers, Designers, Writers & anyone who is looking to create any type of digital product. For $10 you received access to the full database.
Which No-Code tools did you use?
It was made with:
Airtable to list all the resources
Carrd for the simple website
Notion and Trello for project management
How did you launch and grow your product?
I launched it on Product Hunt
I listed it on App Sumo
I daily tweeted about resources I added.
It got good sales like that.
Why and how did you sell it?
Micro Acquire was just starting back then. I was in need of urgent cash, so I listed it and received many reactions.
Why did the buyer want to acquire your project?
The buyer wanted to share the resources with a closed community he was running.
What kind of advice would you like to share with someone who wants to get started with No-Code?
Start with easy No-Code tools like Airtable, Glide, Carrd and Softr.
Then go for more advanced No-Code tools like Bubble.
Do something daily with it, you will learn a lot without even knowing it.
What kind of advice would you like to share with someone who wants to sell their No-Code project?
If you want to sell the market is expecting:
Some revenue
A community or good user base
Those will help in selling successfully.
Where can we go to learn more about you and your projects?
