🚪How Gaston built and sold a job board made with No-Code
The No-Code Exit story of Gaston Levy and We Remoto
Hello dear readers,
I'm back from my holiday in the beautiful Alps. It was good to disconnect, but I wouldn't call it peaceful with a 1,5-year-old who enjoys discovering. Every second, we need to watch out she doesn't roll off a mountain side 😅.
Thank you for all being so enthusiastic about this newsletter and for sharing, liking and retweeting ❤️

Today I'm going to share the inspiring story of the amazing Gaston Levy.
I'm always interested in how people find business ideas that solve a real problem (that's why I'm creating Good Problems). The story of Gaston proves that you don't have to invent the wheel again to create a successful product.

Let's learn more about his journey
Hello Gaston, tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi I'm Gaston Levy from Buenos Aires, Argentina. 30 years old.
I have more than 10 years of experience in user acquisition and paid media. I am co founder of a Digital Marketing Agency that has 25 clients from 8 different countries.
Apart from the agency, I am always working on a side project. During a few years I was part of Mundo.com and Airbarato.com as user acquisition manager.
In 2018-2019 after a Youtube video from Pieter Levels I discovered the No-Code world. I spent a lot of hours learning from Makerpad and other Twitter users.
After playing with Webflow, Bubble, Glide and Sheet2Site I decided to use one of those for an idea I wanted to build.
What No-Code product did you build?
We were trying to find a designer remote job for my girlfriend and noticed that most jobs available were for US or Europe, so I decided to built one for Latin-America.
WeRemoto.com is a remote job board where we assure that all jobs published are suitable for everyone working from a Latin American country.
A lot of remote job boards already existed, but a simple change of language and target audience got the site a lot of visitors since the beginning. For a Latin American resident, getting paid in USD is a life changer.
Which No-Code tools did you use?
I used Sheet2Site. Very easy to use. They have a directory template and the whole site can be managed from a google sheet.
Make/Integromat
Typeform
JotForm
Sendinblue
How did you launch and grow your product?
I knew people out there were going to use the site, it is much easier to market a job board than trying to sell someone something. I just needed to put the site in front of them. So slowly but growing each week, the site started to take off thanks to blogging and social media (mainly Instagram).
I also used my personal LinkedIn and Twitter profile for sharing the journey and numbers (#buildinpublic) and got some attention from job publishers.
A few months later the site started to be picked up by big YouTube channels, viral Twitter threads, media, etc. And thanks to that, I got position at number 1 result for "trabajos remotos" on Google. Which is today still the most important channel for bringing in new users.
I also launched at Product Hunt with not too much success.
Why and how did you sell it?
After the first year, I wanted to improve the product. I started building the website from zero and this time in Webflow to have more features.
But while creating the new site, I also started to think how difficult it was getting paid job posts. There were a lot of jobs being published, but too little were paying for the first positions at WeRemoto listing. So apart from improving the product, in order to grow I wanted to hire a sales person.
During that, I saw a tweet about a site called MicroAcquire, so I published WeRemoto just to see if there was someone interested.
The 2nd call I had was with a guy from Seattle, and he was very interested in WeRemoto. After a few more calls, we agreed on the price and started to work on the transition.
Can you share some stats from the time you listed it for sale?
I can't share the revenue or the price. But some other numbers:
Subscribers: +30.000
Weekly newsletter: 20% Open rate and 5% click rate.
Sessions: 40.000 - 50.000 per month. (+ 28.000 unique users).
Job requests (clicks on apply button): 15%.
Each month more than 7.000 users apply to at least one job (about 10.000 total applies per month).
Job posts: Directly on the site form, between 40-60 posts per month.
Instagram Followers: 32000.
Blog: +1500 visits per month.
Why did the buyer want to acquire your project?
The buyer is a CTO, he had the skills to improve the product. His family is in Latin America and he wanted to have a side project to help people there.
What kind of advice would you like to share with someone who wants to get started with No-Code?
Learn from others but mostly by building.
Start anything to understand how the tools works.
Make some sites or apps for yourself, family and friends.
Then start to think about daily problems and see if there is interest on a solution to that problem.
Build an mvp with the no-code tools you learned and show it to other people with that problem for feedback, they can end up being your customers.
What kind of advice would you like to share with someone who wants to sell their No-Code project?
It doesn't matter if it is built with no-code. If it has users, value, or revenue it can be of value for someone.
Do not sell it if you are not comfortable with the buyer, the process or what they are going to make with your project.
